echiang

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.

Comments: Need to get him to help us all with the CPUC deregulation.

jclark

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail
Max: Nice textured background.
Problems: No work doc.
Comments: Nice photo and link to other web page. Geocities site is extensive and captivating. Uses frames. Has gratuitous lake app and Yosemite pics. Well thought out philosopy about what to publish. Fabulous quotes, humor, etc. Very interesting Web counter that generates all kinds of statistics. Mis-spelled "inspiration" on quotes page.

Problems: Barely begun resume. No work doc. Broken link.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

dirado

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, two work docs.
Max: Nice use of frames for on-line presentation. Good links to Wallace and Grommit. Well-formatted paper for E207.
Problems: In commerce presentation, frames take up too much empty space and slide-show images are too small to be read.
Comments: Nice and thoughtful site that shows personality and hard work.

glaub

Min: Dog photo
Max: N/A
Problems: No personal image. Resume is barely begun. No work doc. E-mail link does not work, because of poor HTML code: has "mail to" but needs "mailto"
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

han

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Good sense of humor and an excleelent introduction of self! Nice use of color, images, and animated gifs to maintain interest.
Problems: Introduction of self and resume are all on the same page. Need to become separate pages. Posted paper needs to have font size specified as it comes out too small on my browser.
Comments: Good beginning; needs some refinement.

garcia

Min: E-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: No photo, just a broken link. Resume is barely begun. No work doc. Poor formatting with heading ruler.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

ito

Min: Stuident ID photo, e-mail
Max: Excellent opening build with animated gif that links to second page. Very interesting philosophy: "resonance." Nice background and interesting and personalized content: Favorite places, personal goals, etc. Javascript date and cgi counter.
Problems: No resume and very brief bio. No work doc. Poor self portrait. Mangled Antoine de Saint-Exupéry quote about teaching people to long for ocean vs. build boat.
Comments: Excellent beginning. Might wish to develop seperate professional wing to current personal home site.

kitow

Min: Site for her cat with photo and e-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: Fake resume. Link to work doc is broken. Format is too centered.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

holt

Min: No personal photo, but nice Logomotion gif and Sunet fractal. E-mail works.
Max:
Problems: No work doc. No resume because the HTML code is pointing at the C drive.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

jhanji

Min: Photos, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Lots of personal images and family attitude.
Problems: Everything but the kitchen sink is on the index page. Professional links appear too far down and then scattered amongst personal items. PowerPoint presentation is posted as a downloadable binary versus an on-screen presentation.
Comments: First page needs to be broken into smaller sections. Personal and professional need to be sorted out.

vkapur

Min: Password-protected resume and functional e-mail
Max: Other site is very extensive and still too text intensive.
Problems: Haas site is too sketchy: no work doc. and no photo.
Comments: Haas site begs the question of why bother. There is too little there and too much of a tease.

kober

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Gorgeous underwater photo. Nice formatting on resume.
Problems: Word doc is uploaded as a binary, not as text or HTML.
Comments: Good start, but much to do.

kopparap

Min: UC seal photo, postscript resume, e-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: No personal photo. No work doc. Resume is not an Acrobat file, but raw postscript with no explanation for the lay audience about how to download to a printer.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

koss

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: No work doc. Two versions of resume. The finished one needs lots of foormatting improvements. The site answers to personal with professional goals, but does not have a neutral opening. Move the fubar discussion to a sheltered page.
Comments: Highly personal page that quickly tells one much about leisure and love. Information might hurt you with employers.

krogmeie

Min: Several good photos, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: N/A
Problems: Resume did not get posted as HTML despite extension; hence there is one large block of text on a grey background. Need to open doc. in Word and export again as HTML. The on-line presentation still gives his place of work as HP. First picture should be placed in two column table so that the text would not break from middle to bottom.
Comments: Good start. Needs refinement.

madden

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Excellent b/w scheme that speaks of class. Excellent resume. Good strategy for moving personal information to seperate page that tells much about sense of adventure. The plane-building image balances the cheerleading image.
Problems: Link color is too dark for black background. The text in the writing sample is too bold.
Comments: One of the best pages in the class.

meade

Min: Photo, e-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: Barely begun resume. No work doc. Poor layout with photo appearing in the middle of links and the Photoshop name being placed low instead of in header. Linked photo is of a male beer party and has no explanation.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

overton

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail
Max: Good start on formatting with tables and using background colors.
Problems: Link to work doc. leaves one on an unfinished page. Use of table can be improved by hiding the lines and separating resume from Haas. Biggest and boldest link leads to party photos.
Comments: Excellent resume. The rest of the site could use the same amount of polish.

cowens

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Thoughtfully laid out. Good use of tables to bring images into alignment. Effective use of white space. Interesting links.
Problems: Work doc. is not her own work, but that of her company. Requires viewers to run the risk of downloading an executable. Surfing image is quite large, but displayed small--the worst of both worlds. If the viewers are going to pay the price of downloading the large image, show it to them. Alternatively, shrink it in Photoshop.
Comments: No mention of interest in climbing. Good use of Haas image.

jephilli

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: N/A
Problems: Work doc. is not posted as gif files, but as an executable. Should re-export in PowerPoint so people can view on line. Personal photo is too far away to be recognizable. Need to embed photo and text in a table better to use empty space.
Comments: Polished resume, but rough site. Refine and expand. Says very little about self.

satero

Min: Ferry photo, resume, e-mail
Max: Only student in class that used their Photoshop drop-shaddow name for the header. Good use of table to bring text into line with image.
Problems: There is no work doc. just a directory for it. Links are in a strange order as e-mail usually goes last.
Comments: Polished resume, but little else. Site could use information and image of self. Current image is far away and gray.

sshaw

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: N/A
Problems: Work doc. is not her own work, but a link to a company's report. Needs to post some coursework. Design is very linear; hence site could use some hidden tables to better layout the information. The one table is centered and visible. First font is highly artistic and flowery. Second font is from different family; hence clashes. Resume has real home address thus posing a stalker danger.
Comments: Great start. Polish.

tobia

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: Nice use of fog and backlight on two photos. Very detailed resume. Humor about Bhal.
Problems: Resume has too much bold. Bhal comment shouldn't stay long. Slide-show images are too small to be read.
Comments:

ugolini

Min: Forest photo, e-mail
Max: N/A
Problems: No resume. No work doc. Favorite places in Italy makes no mention of Dolomites.
Comments: Perfunctuary completion of assignment.

mwong

Min: Photo, resume, e-mail, work doc.
Max: N/A
Problems: Work doc. is a skeleton with next to no meat and needs work on formatting. Resume link has a misplaced capital letter. Page layout is too linear. Use tables to bring name and image into alignment. Index page has a broken image link. No personal image or individual information.
Comments: Good start, but needs polishing.

yelland

Min: Student ID photo, resume, e-mail
Max: Excellent usabilty by use of index, heading rulers, outline structure, and several back-to-top links. Nice use of images to create and maintain interest: background, e-mail, links, etc. Wise use of copyright notice and update announcement.
Problems: Excellent description of his work on Java security. However, the linked work does not clearly show him as being associated or in control. Personal photo is too small and low res. Try using the drop shaddow name that we created in Photoshop. Opening of resume could be tightened up.
Comments: Excellent professional page that delivers a great deal of information in a brief number of links. Sad to hear that the Java sandbox is not as secure as I'd heard. Still, it has got to beat the sox off of MS's strategy of praying that registered ActiveX developers will not run amuck.
