Marriage of Miriam Green and Andrew Rose:

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why was the wedding so small?

A: Primarily because we wanted it to be. It’s a second marriage for both of us, and neither of us wanted a large formal wedding. We think of this as merely a legal confirmation of a long-standing serious and profound relationship. We hope that no one is offended by this, and look forward to celebrating with our friends and family in small groups (which we prefer) and in person.

Q2: What was the weather like?

A: Beautiful; it was just during a fine California sunset.

Q3: What did Miriam wear?

A: A cream silk suit with champagne sandals.

Q4: When did you stop work?

A: Both of us stopped work about two hours before the ceremony, and are already back at work.

Q5: What about a honeymoon?

A: In some sense, our whole life together has been a long honeymoon. We’re taking a telephone honeymoon for the weekend after our wedding, and will spend three weeks in New Zealand together later in the year.

Q6: What is Miriam’s ring like?

A: It is a 1920’s art deco platinum ring with many diamonds. She also has a wedding band. We are in the process of finding an appropriate gold band for me (suggestions welcome).

Q7: Was there a chuppa?

A: No religious overtones except the blessings, the glass smashing, and the wine.

Q8: What did you do afterwards?

A: We drank a magnum of Heidseick Monopole champagne, made risotto, and started a second magnum.

Q9: Are you accepting presents?

A: Yes.

Q10: Is anyone changing names?

A: No.

Q11: Why did you choose to get married on August 13?

A: Jessie was passing through town on the way to a yoga retreat (i.e., we are not pregnant).
