University of California at Berkeley
Haas School of Business
Teaching Business
PHDBA 300
Spring 2008
This course is a required course for all Haas Ph.D. students before they may serve as a GSI. However, all Haas Ph.D. students
and faculty are invited to attend all or part of the course in order to improve their teaching and presentation skills.
Berkeley has a useful website for GSI's at gsi.berkeley.edu. Among other
things, you might want to check out the FAQ's for policies or answers
to specific questions and the teaching guide which includes
suggestions for fostering discussions and ideas from GSI's who have won teaching awards.
The Haas website for GSI-related information is here. You can click
here directly to see all the positions available for
the current semester.

Harvard Business School Publishing has an online course on case-method teaching that includes clips of HBS professors talking about and demonstrating various aspects of teaching. This is within the "Educator" portion of the HBS website, so you will only be able to access it if you are a registered educator with HBS. This link is here.
Also, HBS publishing has now designated a set of "Premier" cases, the best cases published by HBS in various areas. If you are putting together a syllabus for the first time, or looking for some new cases for an existing course, this might be a good place to start.
