Lecture Notes and Syllabuses

Note: If the Haas server gives  you a dialog box asking you for a password, just click "Cancel" (sometimes more than once) and it will indeed serve up the file. We don't necessarily post all the lectures at once. If you get "file not found" it means the lecture hasn't been posted.

To download a lecture file, click on the cell in the table below
(example, to get the notes for the second lecture of Module 3, click on M3L2.)

Instructions for Lecture Notes

To help you succeed in this course, we often are able to make lecture notes available before each lecture.

  • Download: Using this web-site, click on Lecture Notes and follow the instructions downloading. You can save a copy of the notes and print them out. To do this, you need to know how to use PowerPoint and have a version of PPt for Office-97 or later. The Print instructions are simple: On the File menu, look for Print. Click and then look for the dialog box "Print what:" and select "Handouts". You can then chose how many slides you want to print on each page. Most people choose the 3 per page option as that leaves room for notes. You should check the boxes for "Pure black and white" and "frame slides" too.
