John H. (Jack) Phillips

Jack Phillips has been a member of the faculty at U.C. Berkeley since 1987, and a member of the faculty of the Haas School of Business since 1989.

Jack has twice received the Earl F. Cheit Award for Excellence in Teaching (1994, 2001) outright, and received Honorable Mention in connection with the Award for his teaching in 2000. Jack received the Departmental Citation as the most outstanding graduate of the Department of Rhetoric, U.C. Berkeley, and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Hastings College of the Law.

Jack has the benefit of some 15 years of experience in commercial and nonprofit law, both on-staff and in private practice. He is a certified Iyengar Yoga and Pranayama instructor, and a certified Brainwave and Consciousness Trainer.

Jack is primarily interested in the development of individual human potential, and the integration of this potential into an ultimate context of meaning and purpose.
